Foster Lewis Jr

Foster Lewis Jr is a former student athlete graduate of Kashmere High School in 1970. He was a two year varsity letterman on the baseball team as a catcher. Foster attended J C Sanderson Elementary which was adjacent to Trinity Gardens Park; this is where Foster was first introduced to organize baseball. He played for the Trinity Garden Yankees along with several of his classmates. They were coached by Mr. Earl Thomas who kept Foster engage in baseball until he was eligible to play at Kashmere Garden Jr Sr High School under the direction of Henry L. Stevenson. He was a member of Kashmere’s outstanding ROTC Unit under the direction of Lieutenant Gilmore.  Lewis would play four years with the talent lace Ram’s baseball team. His junior year they would finish district runner-up to Sam Houston losing in the regular season finale to decide first place. Foster senior year he step into some big shoes as he replaced Lance Law at the catcher position. He quickly learned the importance of the position as he would call each pitch that was thrown in the game. He was blessed with a pitching staff that consents of Michael Kent Henderson, Elijah Williams and Reggie Gardner. 

After high school he continued to play hardball in the Town & Country League until the age of thirty-five, but continued to play softball.  His softball team advanced to the World Tournament on three occasions playing in Phoenix Arizona, St. Louis Missouri and Birmingham Alabama. Foster played softball until the year 2020 ending his career due to the pandemic. Foster is the Dad to four daughters Serena, Ikeshia, Taruna, Ashleigh and two stepchildren Eli and Temika. He has 5 grandkids and two great-grandkids. Foster was employed at Armco Steel until its closure and he retired from Mc Junkin Red Man Corporation with 27 years of service
