Sequence Idlebird Steptoe a multi-talented student-athlete graduated from Barbara Jordan Vocational and Careers School in 2005. While attending J.C. McDade Elementary, Mr. Booker (Coach) told her mother he wanted Sequence to run track because he had observed her chasing down everyone at recess. Sequence decided to give track a try and fell in love with it. This would be the beginning of many individual accolades and accomplishments for her in athletics. Sequences attended Key Middle School where she became a dual athlete in basketball and of course, track as she developed a strong liken to basketball also.
She decided to attend Barbara Jordan Vocational School which didn’t compete in athletics so she played sports at Kashmere High. It took a satisfice from many people to get her shuttled from Jordan to Kashmere year round as she participates in volleyball basketball and track. She gives a lot of her athletic success to some amazing coaches who crossed her path at Kashmere (Thomas Lester, Garry Dunham, Ms. Laura Banks) they guided and mentored Sequence through her time at Kashmere. This is when her athletic talent would come to the forefront; four-time regional in the 800 meters and state three consecutive years where she placed 3rd as a sophomore in the 800. In basketball, she would make All-District in 2003 and 2004 and rank in the top five scorers in Kashmere’s female basketball history. Sequence a three-sport star graduated from Kashmere a highly decorated student athlete. Coach Garry Dunham stated; Sequence’s ability to perform at such a high level in basketball, volleyball, and track puts her in the top five female athletes to ever compete at Kashmere High.
