Marvin L. Foster was born January 12, 1962 to Freddie Sr and Ella Foster. Marvin was a 1981 graduate and student-athlete at Kashmere High. I was a product of a very athletic family and would follow in the footsteps of my older brothers, Freddie Jr, Eddie, Bobby and Michael Foster. Two of my sisters Ella and Wanda were both outstanding athletes also at Kashmere. Growing up I attended Kashmere’s games with my Dad watching my brothers excel and couldn’t wait until my turn to play. I entered Kashmere High school in 1977 the last of the Foster Clan, unfortunately my Dad had passed and I never got a chance to play in his present. I was happily surprised to see Coach Johnny B. Felder; I was coached by his brother Hollis Felder at Lamar Fleming Junior High. I was a three year football starter at safety for the Kashmere Rams. I also ran track and field under the direction of Coach Frank. In 1978, I was the premier strong safety in the city of Houston after making first team All-District, All-City, All Greater Houston, All-State Safety and an All-American Blue Chipper. During a highly national recruiting process and being sought after by almost every college in the Southwest Conferences, I made the decision to take my talents to Fort Worth, Texas and attend Texas Christian University, where I lettered four years under the coaching staff of F.A. Dry and Jimmy Wacker. In 1982, I receive the top punt-recover in Southwest Conference Bluebonnet Bowl game. I’m married to my wife Lura. We have an extended family of five kids and seven grandchildren , my son’s both played college football, Marquay was a 4 year letterman at the University of Houston and Marvin Jr a 4 year letterman at the University of Missouri. At the present I’m on the battle field for the Lord as a minister.
