Thomas E. Hendricks came to Houston in the early 1960s to coach football and track at Kashmere High School. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1957 in Detroit, where he played football and track. Henry L. Stevenson

Coach Henry L. Stevenson lettered in baseball at Texas Southern University, before coming to Kashmere as baseball and basketball coach. Ozell Harris was a 1949 standout basketball player at Lincoln High, in Coldspring Texas. She earned an athletic scholarship to Texas Southern University where she lettered in basketball and graduated in 1954. Weldon Drew was a standout basketball player at Phillis Wheatley High School and Fisk University. Billie Matthews

  Billie Matthews: Led Southern University to a 12-0 season as a freshman quarterback and the 1948 NAIA National Championship. His career record at Southern was 37-4.
