Denise Reynolds

Denise Reynolds attended Kashmere Senior High School from 1973-1975, where she graduated in the top 10 percent of the class of ‘75.  In fact, she worked diligently in her studies and graduated in two years.  While at Kashmere, Ms. Reynolds played volleyball, under the leadership of Coach Ozell Harris. Denise was a Spiker and was also the Captain of the team. In 1975, the girls’ volleyball team won District. Throughout her high school days, she played ladies and co-ed softball with Good Samaritan Church as First Baseman for both teams. She also played tennis — playing doubles the first year and singles in her senior year.  Ms. Ozell Harris was also the tennis coach during this time. During her tenure at Kashmere, Denise was a member of the National Honor Society, 10th grade attendant in the Royal Miss Kashmere’ s court, and Football  Sweetheart.  After graduating from high school, Denise attended San Jacinto Jr. College and Texas Southern University.  She is currently employed with the United States Postal Service, with 28 years of Service. She has held numerous positions but currently serves as Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Chief Inspector and the Inspector in Charge of the US Postal Inspection Service, which she truly enjoys. In her spare time, Ms. Reynolds finds pleasure in traveling, shopping, and entertainment. She has visited several countries and enjoys cruising the Caribbean, i.e., Dominican Republic, Cozumel, Los Cabos, Costa Rica and most recently, Aruba.  Denise gives back to the community by participating and volunteering in the senior program for the city of Houston recreation department, where she has received many honors awards for her service. She also makes donations to less fortunate kids for the summer youth program at the parks and recreation department. To help with finding a cure, Denise participates in breast cancer 5k walks, specifically Sister Network and Susan G. Komen. She is a member of the National Association for Professional Women and the Red Hat Society, where she is Queen of her chapter, “The Celebrity Divas”.  Denise is also a member of the Kashmere Former Athletes Association and the Houston Area Volleyball Official’s Chapter. She is family oriented and assists her siblings with caring for their 92-year old mother.  She is one of eight siblings, all of whom graduated from Kashmere High School.  She is the middle child and middle daughter of the late Mr. Alonzo Reynolds, Jr. & Dorris Reynolds.  Ms. Reynolds plans to retire in the next few years, however nothing is definite.  A quote from her “I work hard to play hard
