Kenneth Williams

 

Kenneth Williams graduated in June 1969, the first June graduating class at 6900 Wileyvale Kashmere campus. He was a member of the tennis team from 1967-1969. Mr. Julius Simon was his tennis coach and Kenny was team captain his senior season. Other school activities included The National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Club, the Viceroys, and the award-winning Imperial Guard ROTC Drill Team. Kenneth was a member of Kashmere’s Prep Bowl that competed against HISD schools in academic competition.
He served in the US Navy for 6 years and was submarine qualified. Kenneth graduated from Naval Nuclear Power School and qualified as a Nuclear Mechanical Operator. After his military commitment, he attended the University of Houston @ Clear Lake graduating with a degree in Business and received his Master in Business Administration.  Kenneth retired from Shell Trading US    as a Business Analyst.

Community Affiliations:
President of the Kashmere Alumni Association Board – focused on uniting the KHS alumni around preserving school history, helping students, and keeping KHS viable and serviceable to the community.

Serve on the Pro Unitas Community Council to provide guidance wraparound services to students in the Kashmere HS feeder pattern in order to cultivate an environment for success.

Vice President and member of Super Neighborhood 48 – focused on community improvement by advocating and raising issues to various government representatives and agencies.

Member of the Shared Decision Making Committee for Kashmere High School – giving input to school issues to include budgeting, staff training, and program implementation.

Served on the Project Advisory Team for the Kashmere High School renovation project – to give feedback on proposed design criteria, budget, and timeline.

Participate as a community representative on the HISD District Advisory Committee – reviewing district issues with regard to legislative impacts, budgetary constraints, and compliance requirements.

Worked on a team that set up a donation and distribution center at Trinity Gardens Church of Christ for Harvey victims in northeast Houston.  Currently continuing the Harvey recovery work.

All politics is local and everybody can contribute to the success of our community by simply doing small things that collectively make a big impact.
