Roseleta Dolores Mitchell

Roseleta Dolores Mitchell is the daughter of Earlie (deceased) and Berlena Mitchell. She has two sisters and one brother. She is also, the mother of two children, Kori (deceased) and Kourtney Johnson.

Roseleta, known to many as “Sis” attended Emmitt J. Scott Elementary, Kashmere Junior/Senior High, Francis Scott Key Middle, and Kashmere Senior High Schools. She lettered two years as a member of the Kashmere Volleyball Team under the leadership of, Coach Ozell Harris.

Upon graduation in spring of 1971, Sis attended Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Her major was Fine Arts with a minor in Physical Education. In January of 1973 she transferred to the University of Houston (Central Campus). She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree.

Roseleta is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Red Hat Society, and Kashmere Former Athletes Association. She is also a faithful member of the Fifth Ward Church of Christ and a member of the Singles Ministry.

After graduation from U of H, she entered the Commercial Insurance Industry.  Roseleta trained personnel throughout the United States and retired in 1998 after an on the job injury. She continues to hold her Commercial Lines License and is a Certified Customer Service Representative with the State Board of Insurance.

Sis hobbies are attending church functions, reading, sports, traveling, and entertaining. But, most of all she enjoy helping others.
