David Earl “AKA Baylord” Broussard

David Earl “AKA Baylord” Broussard was born in Houston Texas into a family of 11 siblings, 7 boys and 4 girls to the late Ellis and Vivian Broussard. David was raised in the North Houston subdivision called Trinity Gardens. He attended Rosa Lee Easter K-4th, Chatham Elementary, and I.M Terrell Junior High and graduated from Kashmere Mighty Rams High School class of 1972. While @ I.M Terrell he was motivated and encouraged to develop his skills in sports by Coach Lawson Smart. David became competitive and loved the sports of football, basketball, and track. He furthered his athletic ability while @ Kashmere High School under the NO nonsense coach Tom Hendricks. Coach Hendricks was not only his mentor and directed his path toward sport; he was incredibly thoughtful and giving. Coach took on the responsibilities of making sure I had enough to eat providing extra food during lunch and after school steak dinners. He saw a need and addressed it. Later in life; David was able to share the gospel with Coach Hendricks and he is forever thankful Coach is his brother in Christ.

David played the position of wide receiver and became a part of a winning district team every year. He expanded his athletic ability into track; competing in positions including Open Quarter, Second Leg 440 relay, and Anchor Mile relay. The team achieved ALL CITY and DISTRICT, they won 2nd in STATE for the mile relay. David was honored to letter in Track. After graduation, he played Semi-Pro Football with the Houston Drillers.

David has been blessed to have a good singing voice; he started singing @ the age of 5 for family gatherings and then singing in school talent shows. He was recognized by Conrad Johnson AKA PROF to sing in the Kashmere Stage Band, he held the lead vocalist position. David is a member of the TKOs; they have open for the Dell’s, The Temptations, Teddy Pendergrass, and his cousin Johnny Taylor. The group continues to sing @ various events. David was a top candidate for the bass singer position for the Motown Temptations. Later, he became a gospel recording artist and is currently a song leader in the Church of Christ.
David is honored to say he has been married to Pamela Broussard for 10 years; they lead several ministries @ the Missouri City Church of Christ where he is a Deacon. David is the father of 5 children, grandfather of 22, and great-grandfather of 1 with another expecting. He is proud and grateful to say he is a Prostate Cancer Survivor. David is a passionate player of dominoes, winning several championships within the community and among friends.

David retired from Fed-Ex after 26 years, winning countless safe driver awards and recognition for years of service. He has had the privilege to travel to Paris France and London. My goals are to relax and further my traveling experience.
