Mr. Junius Simon, a native of Loreauville, Louisiana grew up in Lake Charles where he was a standout 3 sport student –athlete and a 1958 graduate of Washington High School. After receiving many accolades including All District and All State he accepted a football scholarship to attend Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

After graduating with a B S in Industrial Arts, Coach Simon began his coaching career at Kashmere Gardens Jr. Sr. High School under the leadership of Southern graduate Billie Matthews.
