Thermalene Hulett Henderson

Thermalene Hulett Henderson graduated from Kashmere Senior High School in 1971 and became a cheerleader in the fall of 1970. She was born on August 8, 1953, in Houston, Texas, to the late Therman Hulett and the late Ruthie L. Hulett. At an early age, she was raised in the following neighborhoods: Pleasantville, Kashmere Gardens, and Trinity Gardens. Thermalene received her education at Pleasantville Elementary School, R.L. Isaac Elementary School, Kashmere Junior/Senior High School, I.M. Terrell Junior High School, and Kashmere Senior High School.

Thermalene stated, “It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Mighty Rams cheerleading squad under the leadership of the late Lena Maiden Youngblood. She was not only our mentor and coach, but she believed in us, pushed us to do our best, and taught us lessons we still carry today. I will be forever grateful for her guidance and will always remember her love.” In addition to cheerleading, Thermalene was also a member of the Drama Club, Library Club, Squadron, and Student Council.

After graduating from Kashmere Senior High School in 1971, Thermalene pursued her dream career by attending Career Academy to become a nurse. In 1974, she changed career paths and began working for the United States Postal Service, where she dedicated 34 years of service before retiring in December 2008. She has also worked as an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant since 1993 and continues in this role today.

Thermalene is married to Michael Henderson and is the proud mother of two children: daughter La Shanda Rollins and son Dhemil Brown. She is also the proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Kamyrria Washington, Jadynn Brown, and Dhemil Brown. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, gardening, canning, crafting, and—most of all—fishing. Thermalene is a member of The Luke Church in Humble, Texas, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Timothy W. Sloan. She is actively involved in the Bridge Builders Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Senior Adult Ministry, and Business Entrepreneur Ministry.
