Shelton Zenon

Shelton Zenon was born in Lafayette Louisiana. He moved to the Houston area when he was 2 years old with his parents Aaron and Enola Zenon. He and his 5 brothers and 2 sisters attended Kashmere Junior High and High Schools.

While at Kashmere Jr. High, Shelton played football under Coach Billie Mathews, baseball under Coach Henry Stevenson, basketball under Coach Weldon Drew, was on the swim team and ran truck under Coach Tom Hendricks. During his high school football career as a quarterback, Shelton was one of the captains of the team and won First Team All-District and First Team All-City awards. His senior year he led the Kashmere Football Team to win the City Championships with a record of 10-0 and 12 -1 for the season (the best record in the 60 year Kashmere history to date).

After graduating from Kashmere in 1970, Shelton received 2 full Athletic Scholarships for football to Blinn College and subsequently to the University of Tennessee at Martin.

After college Shelton started his career in the Industrial Chemical Industry. Within a year, because of his hard work, Shelton was promoted to Regional Manager over Warehousing and Manufacturing. He was such an asset to this company that it grew 4 times in size and he was promoted to manage the Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and California locations. He received numerous Manager of the Year awards.

Shelton’s 42-year tenure with this company ended in March of 2017 when he retired. Now he spends much of his time playing golf, spending time with his beautiful wife Gwen and spending as much time as he can with his daughter Sabrina and his 3 grandchildren Hannah, David, and Daniel. He is truly enjoying the fruits of his hard work and determination.
