Tiger Conway Jr.

Plasee Conway, Jr. – was born in Houston, Texas.  He attended J C McDade Elementary, Kashmere Gardens Jr. High, and Kashmere Gardens Sr. High schools.  Plasee aka Red was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, YMCA, and Pinecrest Presbyterian Church.

Plasee played football on junior high, junior varsity and varsity teams as defensive guard, linebacker, place kicker and pat.  He was coached by Kirby Jones, Tom Hendricks, Jr., Johnny B. Felder, and many more others.  During his senior year, he was recruited by Johnny Rodgers from Nebraska and received offers from TSU, North Dakota, Montana and Texas A&I Kingsville. After graduation from Kashmere Gardens Senior High School in 1971, his interests were elsewhere besides college and football.

Plasee longed to be a professional wrestler like his father, Tiger Conway, Sr, a trailblazer known around the world.  In December 1972, Plasee made his debut at the Sam Houston Coliseum.  Afterwards, he won an immediate booking by Lou Thez, World Heavyweight Champion who became his trainer and mentor.  Paul Boesch, Houston Wrestling promoter and booker named Tiger, Jr. Rookie of the Year.  His professional and fatherly advice was never forgotten.

Plasee attained a well-earned place in the World of Wrestling and was able to excel competitively against others with his well-honed skills and abilities.  He has been around the world touring India, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hawaii, Saudi Arabia, and Bahamas.  Across the United States, he wrestled in Texas, California, Nevada, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and many others. He was associated with NWA, WCW, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-South.

Some of his wrestling partners were Tiger Sr. (father), Andre the Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Rocky Johnson (Rock’s dad), Pez Whatley, Bruiser Brodie, David Von Erich, Ernie Ladd, Junkyard Dog, and Ronnie Garvin.

Belt titles include Texas Tag Team, Mid-Atlantic Tag Team, Florida Tag Team, American Brass Knucks, Texas All-Star Heavyweight, Bahama Heavyweight, Florida Television, USA Tag Team, and World Tag Team.

Honors include Cauliflower Alley Club Ring of Friendship for father and son wrestlers, Gulf Coast Wrestling Legend Award, and Florida Champion Wrestling Wall of Fame. He is active on the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame Distinguished Voting Committee.

Tiger Jr. was offered opportunity to continue his career with the WWF as the business began to change.  Instead, he went into retirement in late 1990’s and took over the management of his father’s business, Tiger Conway Fence Company because of his failing health.  This time off from wrestling would allow him to spend more time and enjoy his family.  He was honored in 2004 by Will Rogers Elementary for going the extra distance for children. He also actively coached both sons in little league football.  Tiger Jr. was also offered opportunity to coach wrestling at Kashmere High School and many other schools all over.
