Debra Montgomery McDonald

Debra Montgomery McDonald is the second of five children and a proud graduate of Kashmere Gardens Jr Sr. High School, class of 1968. While at Kashmere, she was an active member of the school’s archery team, playing under the guidance of Mrs. L. Edwards.

Debra continued her education at Prairie View A & M University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education degree. She devoted 38 years to teaching, retiring from the Houston Independent School District, where she left a lasting impact on her students and colleagues.

Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Debra enjoys bowling, playing games, and spending time with family and friends. Debra is a dedicated member of Northside Missionary Baptist Church, where she sings in the choir, attends Sunday School and participates actively in the Womenโ€™s Department.

Deeply committed to her community, Debra is the Immediate Past President of the Houston-Harris County Retired Teachers Association, having served two years. She now chairs the Nominating Committee for incoming officers. Debra is also Secretary of the Accords Bowling Group and Assistant Secretary for her social group The Ebony Girls Social Organization. She can often be found volunteering with children at least once a month.

Debra was a devoted wife for 38 years to her loving husband, Warren McDonald, before his passing in 2014. Her life is a testament to service, leadership and unwavering dedication to her family, community and faith,

Individually, we as former student-athletes and cheerleaders personify Kashmere traditions and are an integral part of the ongoing success of our current program. As former students weโ€™re a part of this legacy and KFAA greatly value your contribution to our history. It is KFAA hope to preserve and celebrate the athletic heritage and tradition of this great school. KFAA will develop partnerships and apply our energies and resources toward a better athletic program.
