Tamika Wyatt Harris is a 1986 multi-talented Kashmere student-athlete. She step on campus as a freshmen and made the varsity squad and became a 4 year letterman in basketball and track and field. She also lettered 3 year on the volleyball team. Tamika earned First Team All-District honors for basketball four consecutive years. She was the team’s leading scorer and rebounder. She also earned several tournament MVP honors and was named District MVP as a senior. Standing at 6’2, Tamika was a consistent left handed threat as a power forward and center. She also ran track and competed in the high jump, long jump, 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays teams. With these outstanding athletic credentials one would assume she had bragging rights in the home as the superstar. Her brothers Shone was the leading scorer for Kashmere’s boys’ team and district “Most Valuable Player” so they had to share bragging rights. Both Tamika and Shone were voted Most Athletic by their senior class in 1986. After graduating from Kashmere, she continued her storied career at Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. At Connors State Tamika concentrating on basketball only she would take her game to a higher level. Tamika was the team’s leading scorer and rebounder both years Connors State. Tamika graduated from Connors State with a degree in Special Education in 1988 and continued her studies and basketball career at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. At ECU she would blossom into a premier scorer and rebounder avg 21.7 ppg and 13.7 rebounds and earned team captain. She was ECU inside threat after losing some players to academic disqualification. Rebounding was one of Tamika major strengths; as she excels in that area grabbing 26 rebounds and scoring 48 points in a game against Northwestern University. Her long arms and leaping ability have enabled her to block a school record 52 shots her senior season. She also had a team high of 50 steals including a key one with: 09 seconds in ECU upset of number 4^th ranked Southwestern University. Tamika was voted Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Year” as a junior with a 22.7 scoring and 14.1 rebounds. Tamika completed college with a degree in psychology and her name itch into ECU record books as one of their most decorated players. She is mother of 2 beautiful daughters and has 5 grandchildren. Tamika is currently a tenured employee at Baker Hughes as a Ballistic Tech.
