Billy Baldwin was born the youngest of six siblings. The Baldwin crew had a lot of energy to burn, so consequently, Billy began playing sports early in life. At the age of seven, he played football for the Apache All-Stars. As he grew, he was a three-sport athlete at I.M. Terrell where he played football, basketball, and track & field.
When Baldwin entered Kashmere in 1984, he was greeted by first-year coach Gary Dunham and veteran coach Joel North. He quickly excelled under the tutelage of offensive line coach Major Abram. In his three years of varsity football, Baldwin earned all-district honors for three years and all-Greater Houston for two.
Baldwin furthered his education as a student-athlete by earning a scholarship to Rice University becoming the first Kashmere football athlete to attend the prestigious university. While earning a degree in Managerial Studies, Baldwin was named two times to the All-Southwest Conference team for opening blocking for quarterback Bert Emanuel and Doak Walker award winner Trevor Cobb.
After college, Baldwin pursued a career in education. He has been an educator for nearly 24 years and is presently teaching at George Bush High School where he also coaches the offensive line.
Billy Baldwin enjoys a wonderful life with his beautiful wife of 23 years, Alvia, and three awesome children, Perri, Matthew, and Moriah and a son-in-law, Brandon. He also has three marvelous grandchildren. Baldwin also is a faithful member of The Fort Bend Church in Sugarland, Texas, where he serves as a Deacon.
