Clyde Pride

Clyde Pride hails from the Northeast side of Houston. He attended James Bowie Elementary, Burbank Middle School, and transferred to Francis Scott Key in his eighth-grade year, where he played under the legendary Coach GoodBeer, leading his team to a district championship. In high school, Clyde played basketball at Kashmere under the guidance of Coach Walter Yates Sr., where he earned First Team All-District, Most Outstanding Athlete, and Most Valuable Player honors. He led his team to the Regional Finals in 2003.

Clyde was recruited by Drake University, Centenary University, and Prairie View A&M University, choosing to further his academic and athletic career at Prairie View A&M. After two years, an injury sidelined him, leading him to transfer to Langston University, where his team won the NAIA Red River Conference Championship. He later returned to Prairie View A&M, where he earned his degree in Management Information Systems.

After graduation, Clyde moved to Dallas and began his coaching career in the local recreation circuit, eventually transitioning to coaching club basketball.  He also coached at the private school level for three years. Dedicated to youth development, Clyde mentors student-athletes, helping them navigate the recruiting process and prepare for collegiate competition. He also works basketball camps throughout Texas and provides individual training for players aged 6-19.

Clyde volunteered at Dallas Eastfield College for five years, and in 2020, the team won the conference and regionals, advancing to the Final Four. Currently, Clyde is a full-time entrepreneur, running New Era Elite Performance Training, Pride Unlimited Logistics, and New Life Construction Services alongside his wife, Ashley, to whom he has been happily married for 12 years. Together, they are the proud parents of two boys, Josiah and Zion.
