Kaylin McNary

Kaylin R. McNary is a product of Houston ISD schools.  Kaylin attended Roosevelt Elementary, Burbank Middle School, and Kashmere High School.  While at Kashmere, Kaylin was a member of the iDance company and President of the National Honor Society and Positive Trendsetterz.  She was a KHS cheerleader from 2008-2012, coached by Ms. Gwen Mohair and Mrs. Patsy Morehead-Potts, serving as captain.  Kaylin also played softball, coached by Mr. Robert Harmon, and tennis, coached by Mrs. Patsy Morehead-Potts. She graduated from Kashmere HS as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2012.  She furthered her education at Prairie View A&M University and was the recipient of several scholarships, including the prestigious Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) Metropolitan Scholarship, the HLSR Achievement Scholarship, and the USDA 1890 Academic Scholarship. In May of 2016, Kaylin graduated magna cum laude, earning a bachelorโ€™s degree in Agriculture, with a concentration in Animal Science.  In 2021, Kaylin graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University, earning a Masterโ€™s degree in Agricultural Education.

Kaylin is employed with Houston ISD as an Agriculture teacher at North Forest High School. Her dedication and commitment to building a successful agriculture program and Future Farmers of America organization has afforded her several awards. She has received several North Forest HS Teacher of the Month awards in addition to being selected as the 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year for North Forest HS.  Kaylin was selected as the 2021-2022 Houston ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.  She then became one of five finalists for Region IV Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Kaylin is the daughter of Karol McNary and Ron McNary. She is the younger sister to Darrell Bledsoe and Robin McNary. Kaylin is a member of Fifth Ward Church of Christ and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is also a Discovery Youth Foundation alum.  In her spare time, she enjoys working with cattle, riding horses, competing in rodeo barrel racing events, and spending time with family. Kaylin attributes her success to God, family, church family, and her KHS alumni village.

Individually, we as former student-athletes and cheerleaders personify Kashmere traditions and are an integral part of the ongoing success of our current program. As former students weโ€™re a part of this legacy and KFAA greatly value your contribution to our history. It is KFAA hope to preserve and celebrate the athletic heritage and tradition of this great school. KFAA will develop partnerships and apply our energies and resources toward a better athletic program.
