Danny Thomas

Danny Thomas a 1973 graduate and outstanding student-athlete at Kashmere High School graduate in the top 5% of his class. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Danny was Captain of the K-Rams Basketball team and was selected to the 1973 19 4A All – District Team. He played under the tutorship of legendary Coach Weldon Drew. He received an academic scholarship to Texas College in Tyler Texas. At Texas College Danny was team captain 4 years for Coach Charles Jackson and leaded them in assists and averaged 20 or more points each season. As a sophomore he earned NAIA All – American honors, finishing 3rd in the nation in free throw shooting percentage. Danny graduated in 1977 from Texas College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of โ€œAlpha Kappa National Honor Societyโ€. Danny would earned his Master Degree from Texas Southern University in 1983.His teaching career span 32 years in the Houston ISD from 1977 โ€“ 2009 at numerous schools Kashmere HS, M C Williams Middle Schools, B T Washington HS, Patterson Elm/MS, and Deady Middle School.. Danny coaching career 1977 โ€“ present, was at Kashmere HS, Deady MS, and Milby HS. He was Assistant Coach with the 1980 Kashmere Boys State Champion Basketball Team under Head Coach Frankie Brazos.  He is married to Tracy S. Thomas. Children are Quenton L. Thomas, Fanessa Lacy and Lloyd Mitchell Jr. His grandchildren are Jaszmun, Lauryn, Kaelyn, Madacyn, Tori, Justus, Aria, Chad and Ciara.

It is KFAA hope to preserve and celebrate the athletic heritage and tradition of this great school. KFAA will develop partnerships and apply our energies and resources toward a better athletic program.
