Jason Thomas Berryman

Jason Thomas Berryman; a native Houstonian, father, athlete, and physical trainer; was the 7th Child born to Bambi Dawn Bey and Jewel Thomas Berryman. Jason attended Thompson Elementary, Francis Scott Key Jr. High, and Kashmere High School. Jason found refuge in sports at a young age. During his high school years you could not keep Jason off any field; he played baseball, basketball, soccer, football, track, tennis, golf, and also wanted to join the band, but they practice the same time as the football team.

Jason graduated from Kashmere Senior High School 2003 where he started his phenomenal football career. Upon his senior year he was recruited by all The Big Twelve Universityโ€™s and decides to attend Iowa State University to play the position of defensive end. During his tenure at Iowa his recorded stats were 110 tackles with 10.5 sacks; at the end of his freshman year he was awarded teamโ€™s Most Valuable Player 2003, he also achieved the Big Twelve New Comer of the Year Award 2003, and Big Twelve Honorable Mention 2003. In one game he had 72 tackles and earned the top defensive player in Houston bowl 2005. His highest achievement was signing a contract with the NFL Cincinnati Bengals in 2007. Football was his life after leaving the Bengals he went on to play for the Iowa Barnstorms of the arena football league in 2008; he also played briefly with the Abilene Ruff Riders and Des Moines Blaze,

 

Jason was a proud father of two children; Tyra Berryman of Houston, Texas and Jason Thomas Berryman Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When Jason was not on a football field, he enjoyed roping, training, and riding horses, writing poetry, and working out in the gym. He continued his love for physical fitness he became a certified physical trainer thru The Personal Trainer Academy state of Texas. On January 05, 2013, to soon our lord and Savior Jesus Christ called Jason Thomas Berryman Sr. home from his labor.

Individually, we as former student-athletes and cheerleaders personify Kashmere traditions and are an integral part of the ongoing success of our current program. As former students weโ€™re a part of this legacy and KFAA greatly value your contribution to our history. It is KFAA hope to preserve and celebrate the athletic heritage and tradition of this great school. KFAA will develop partnerships and apply our energies and resources toward a better athletic program.
