Ruben E. Moore a native of Houston and graduate from Kashmere Gardens Senior High School in 1968. Ruben was a standout student-athlete and a two-year varsity athlete. “Mo” was voted to All City and All District Basketball Team as a senior. Prior to graduation, he received scholarship letters from Houston Baptist, University of Texas Arlington, Villanova, and Lon Morris Junior College. Mr. Moore decided to attend Lon Morris with a full basketball scholarship. He graduated with an associate in Physical Education. He enrolled at Texas A&I as a walk- on before transferring to Prairie View A&M University to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree. Mr. Moore began his teaching career at Forest Brook High School. After a year, he began his career at Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired in 2009. Mr. Moore is the proud father of three daughters Karen Lynell Jackson, Scharika Jones-Freeman, and Elizabeth Nichols-Jones. He also has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
