Kenneth Dewayne Haywood

Kenneth Dewayne Haywood born January 29, 1972 to Raymond and Agnes Joseph-Haywood grew up the Kashmere Gardens area of Houston. With two older brothers David and Daryl through them is how his completive edge for athletic started to develop. Kenneth attended Kashmere Elementary before moving on the Our Mother of Mercy Middle School. He was a member of The Boys Club, YMCA and Parks and Recreations doing the summer years. This is where the game of basketball became his chosen sport.ย ย 

Later he attended Kashmere Senior High, as a sophomore making the Junior Varsity team under the tutorship of Coach Montgomery. He would letter two years under the Legendary Frankie Brazos where he blossom into the team leading scorer averaging 21.5 points 5 rebounds and 5 assist. Kashmere is also where he met his sweetheart Ann Wilson-Haywood.

After graduating Kashmere, Kenneth received scholarships to Ranger Junior College, Fort Hays State and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. In 1996 he played professional for USA Basketball in Pineda De Mar a coastal town in Spain. After moving back to Houston he would meet Coach Lonnie Reynolds and began playing in the Midnight League, where his voice became a spokesman for the league. He was offered employment with Highpoint School of Harris County Department of Education. In his position he mentor, behavior coach, teacherโ€™s aide and crises team leader. Kenneth is the father of two sons Ayllerrick, Kenan Dwayne.

As former students weโ€™re a part of this legacy and KFAA greatly value your contribution to our history. It is KFAA hope to preserve and celebrate the athletic heritage and tradition of this great school. KFAA will develop partnerships and apply our energies and resources toward a better athletic program.
