Linda Marie Domino

Early Life and Education

Linda Marie Domino was born in Crowley, Louisiana, to Oscar Charles and Gerald Lee Domino. The third of eight children, Linda grew up in Trinity Gardens, Houston, Texas, where she developed a passion for sports and the performing arts from a young age. Her educational journey began at Rosa Lee Easter and continued through J.C. Sanderson Elementary schools. In seventh grade, Linda’s talent in gymnastics was recognized by her gym teacher, Linda Bell, which led her to pursue gymnastics classes. Her love for athletics blossomed as she entered junior high, where she began cheerleading in eighth grade and also participated in volleyball, student council, modern dance, and the honor society.ย  Linda was captain of the cheerleading squad in the 9th grade and Miss Terrell 1975.ย  Notably, Linda’s stunning performance earned her an invitation to perform at the Continental Showcase that same ย  year, showcasing her exceptional talent in modern dance and gymnastics.

ย High School Years

Linda attended Kashmere High School, known as the home of the Mighty Rams. In her sophomore year, she joined the marching band, playing the flute under the direction of Conrad Johnson. Her involvement in school activities flourished as she was elected 10th and 11th-grade attendant of the Queen’s Court. Linda continued to excel in volleyball, playing under Coach Williams from 10th to 12th grade.

Her cheerleading career peaked during the 11th grade and her senior year, where she served as captain of the cheerleading squad and graduated as Miss Kashmere in 1978.

Career and Community Involvement

After high school, Linda pursued a career in administrative business at Houston Community College. She dedicated ten years to the Adult Probation Department before embarking on a 30-year career at the North Houston Postal Service, where she retired after decades of committed service.

Linda has been an active member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoys singing alto in the church choir. Her involvement in the community and her faith has been a cornerstone of her life.

Personal Life

In 1998, Linda married Donn Shaw, and together they have built a life filled with love and memories. Today, Linda’s legacy lives on through her contributions to her community, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering spirit in all her endeavors.
