Linda Rollins Caraway

Linda Rollins Caraway was raised in Fifth Ward area of Houston, Texas, initially attending Crawford Elementary School before her family moved to Kashmere Gardens, leading her to graduate from Kashmere Jr. Sr. High Schoxol in 1968 as part of its final original graduating class, home of the Maroon and White Rams.ย  Linda excelled on the Kashmere High School Archery Team under the direction of Mrs. L. Edwards and was actively involved in the Science Club and Future Homemakers of America Club.

After high school, Linda pursued higher education at Texas Southern University and the College of Biblical Studies, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree and an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies. She furthered her education at Dallas Theological Seminary, obtaining a Master of Arts Degree in Biblical Counseling. Her career in spiritual counseling began with the Harris County Jail system as an Assistant Chaplain, where she counseled and provided guidance to women inmates. She also served as a counselor with Making a Difference Ministry, Oil of Joy International Ministry, and Person to Person Counseling Service.

Linda dedicated 31 years of her career to Shell Oil Company, progressing from Data Entry Clerk to Pipeline Reconciliation Processor and eventually managing the Oil and Gas Data and IT Processing Division. 

Linda was married to Anthony Caraway for 31 years until his passing in January 2002.  Anthony was also alum of Kashmere High School, graduating class of 1968. Linda has four children: sons Derrick, Douglas, Damien, and daughter Janice.  Anthonyโ€™s military service took them to Germany, where Linda experienced life abroad where she embraced opportunities to explore Europe, including visits to Frankfurt, Asbach, Kassel, and the Netherlands where she visited the capital Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Her passion for travel extended across continents to Africa, France, Canada, Central and South America, as well as multiple visits to Israel and various states within the United States.

Actively involved in her church, The River of Jordan Church, Linda serves in multiple capacities including recording clerk, church Treasurer, Counselor, Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher, and member of the praise and worship team. 

As the second of six children born to Earlie and Dollie Rollins, she attributes her strong work ethic and determination to her motherโ€™s empowering words:  “If someone else can do it, so can you.”

Individually, we as former student-athletes and cheerleaders personify Kashmere traditions and are an integral part of the ongoing success of our current program. As former students weโ€™re a part of this legacy and KFAA greatly value your contribution to our history. It is KFAA hope to preserve and celebrate the athletic heritage and tradition of this great school. KFAA will develop partnerships and apply our energies and resources toward a better athletic program.
