Paula Landy

Paula Guidry Landy was a member of the 1969 graduating class of Kashmere High School. During her high school years, she was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the cheerleading squad during 10-12th grades.

Paula continued her educational journey enrolling at Bishop College of Dallas, Texas. After two years in the Dallas area, she transferred to the University of Houston to complete her final two years in her hometown. She continued her major in English at both Bishop and U of H. During her time at Bishop College, Paula became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, continuing the legacy of her sister and other family members.

With a major in English, teaching seemed to be the obvious career path, however, Paulaโ€™s journey in the business world, veered into the financial sector. Working in the banking industry for over 10 years which included Cullen-Frost Bank, and First Interstate Bancorp (now โ€“ Wells Fargo Bank). Desiring a change in her career, she worked for United Way for many years before being recruited by the Childrenโ€™s Museum of Houston to serve as Museum Administrator. She later joined the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) where she served for over 10 years until retirement.

Losing her husband of 31 years, Paula forged as a single mom, raising her son, Gerald Landy and daughter, Ashley Landy Provost. She is the grandmother of Kayla Landy and great grandmother to a very active 3-year-old, Dominique Hall. She is also a member of the Fountain of Praise Church where she serves in the hospitality ministry, welcoming parishioners to the House of God.
